Next week’s think piece writes itself: Should Christian women be allowed to have Hooters? Meaning of course should they allowed to be Hooters franchisees in order to engage the culture.

lol. no lie, my initial plan was to follow up last week's serious article with something incredibly juvenile like "christian women with big boobs should know better." but while i was debating if i really wanted to send my algorithm to hell by writing that article, i saw the hooters bankruptcy news. felt like it was a sign

I will be using "stuff ice it to say" in my conversations from here on out just to see if people are listening. Nice one!

It's the shirt that says "Hootears" for me. Channeling William Everett from Bill and Pete. 👌

Frkn fabulous 🦉👀🍈🍈😄😅😂

There are so many good things to unpack here, I need to just hold this a bit … I need to sit with it a while and just bear witness to how it makes me feel.

Mostly, Im feeling empathy for the target side chicks, who don’t seem to have been represented in an honoring way.

Perhaps the restoration committee should draw up some action points (be sure to use rounded fonts)… one issue that we must circle back around on … those sus red polos they have to wear. Are they trying to make them look less attractive? I suspect they’re intentionally suppressing them or oppressing them, whichever one sounds worse.

The Target Goomar community is totally underrepresented and marginalized.

The Hooters’ girlfriends can always get jobs at Twin Peaks down the street.

for what it's worth, i treat all of my side chicks with the utmost respect. guess i'm just a little more woke than most

Holly are you sure you’re feeling empathy? Because that’s currently a matter of debate among Christian nerds and might well be a sin. We’re still waiting on advice from the Evangelical Thought Leader about whether sympathy is better, since that is a separate thing.

I feel empathy for owls. Anyway, the last time I saw a Hooters was in TEXAS, and we have "Twin Peaks" instead here in the mountin-land of Colorado, all the owls are here and we don't even need them!, but I can't justify sending them to Texas!!!

When I attended Abilene Christian University in Abilene, Texas, Hooters tried to open up an establishment about a mile from campus. The university then bought that plot of land and let a Chili’s open there instead.

don't mess with that Big Acapella church of Christ money

We may not have instruments but we do have land deals and real estate lawyers

oh i know brother. rochester christian university alumnus here.

I actually looked up Rochester Christian University on Wikipedia. FWIW, they do not list you as a notable alumnus, which is an obvious mistake.

OMG I’m so glad to know your think pieces are grounded in the One True Church founded by Paul/the Stone Campbell guys.

Even the Hooters are closing. It’s like nothing is sacred anymore.
