I hadn't thought of Wintley Phipps in way too long. Did you know that he's a Trinidadian-American, which means that he believes in three Gods?

And here I was thinking it meant he believed in three Fathers. Or "Dads," in the Greek.

I definitely blame Saxon Math for my sins. A little HOT 103 radio was the only way I could survive.

I am not even a Christian and I can’t stop laughing.

Oh and I learned today that laughing is sinning according to the Greek. It leads to other sins like doing sex and having bad theology.

If sin is understood correctly, it is the rejection of the consummate supremacy of God by our first parents. Everything else that is commonly identified as sin in Judeo/ Christian tradition, is in fact, the RESULT of sin.

Knowledge of the convictions of God does not arise merely from what can be heard or read, or even from what can be observed around us. True knowledge of God emerges from a place that is far more personal and compelling to us. Geniune knowledge of the actual dispositions of God can be revealed to us only as the result of having gazed deeply into the eyes of our God while He gazes into ours and by uninterrupted observation of the expression on His countenance as our God likewise mutually engages in observation of ours. I recall once in contemplation of our truly Unfathomable God, a moment's deliberation of the word "theology" and becoming aware instantaneously of laughter coming from the direction of Heaven. This was not laughter of ridicule at all but of mass incredulity at just the thought of the word being employed by our contemporeries in an attempt to justify that which cannot actually exist even in Heaven where God is perfectly known but cannot in the least be understood, even by Angels. The best that can be said of a great deal of contemporary theological expression is that it will keep another theologian or two off of the streets tonight as evidenced by the truly miniscule and inconvenient representation of contemporary theologians of the day counted among the original twelve chosen by our Savior.

Thanks Matt, I guess unfortunately my answer would have to be no. In all of 3/4 of a century I have been such an interminable klutz I could never get the hang of dancing.

“To put it in laid man’s terms, theology is where you read what the Bible says but you want to do something different, so you have to make an argument.”

As my youth pastor always said, it's not the size of your theology that matters, but how you use it

I’m so glad theology is autoeroic. And yes I did Saxon Math too so clearly it’s all their fault. Not only is my theology bad but so is my math 🤣
